Bob Bernatchez, President
Bob started his career on the trucking side of the industry at Carolina Freight Carriers. After receiving his MBA from Harvard University in 1986, he went on to providing risk financing and risk management to the transportation industry. With Bob’s prior experience in trucking he was able to develop innovative approaches to help a large portfolio of trucking companies improve risk management and reduce loss costs. With over thirty years of trucking insurance leadership under his belt, Bob maintains his passion for the industry and continuously strives to deliver innovative and creative solutions to the risky business of operating trucking companies.
Bob started BRISK Management Services in 2013 with the objectives of providing superior risk financing and risk management to his clientele. The development of BRISK Insurance Company and the Tarwheels Captive were natural extensions of those objectives. Today Bob Bernatchez actively manages the Tarwheels Group Captive with a focus on critical vendor partnerships. With over fifteen years of experience running trucking captives for transportation specialty insurance companies, Bob leverages a deep pool of industry knowledge, experience and professional contacts to continuously improve Tarwheels’ member experience.
Chandler Cox, Captive Programs Manager
Chandler Cox was born and raised in Burlington, NC where he went on to attend Clemson University with a major in Financial Management, concentration in Financial Planning and minor in Accounting. Chandler started his career at Canal Insurance Company where he completed the multi-faceted REACH program, with exposure to all company departments, prior to becoming an underwriter. As an underwriter, he worked on both passenger transportation and trucking accounts before joining BRISK in April 2017.
As Captive Programs Manager for BRISK Management Services, Chandler’s primary responsibility is evaluating and pricing qualified accounts to join the Tarwheels Group Captive. He is also responsible for risk management objectives, planning Tarwheels meetings and events, and reviewing captive program results.
